Many organizations accumulate more and more documents in the run-up to an audit, without processes, responsibilities, and evidence really becoming any clearer. More effective is a lean structure with few but impactful documents and clearly defined review points.
A good QM system supports teams in day-to-day operations and is not built solely for the audit date. Preparation should be aligned with exactly that.
